My company was having a weekend away in Frankfurt that any of us could attend if we wished. It was only for the bosses, but we were all told that if we found our own accommodation then we would be welcome to come along to the conference and meet the people that they were seeing out there. I worked in the Stock exchange in London and the people my company was meeting was a group of stock brokers from the Bundesbank. The bosses obviously didn’t want to justify paying for all of our transport costs, but they also clearly felt like the more keen junior workers would probably make the effort to come. This was part of my reason for coming, but a large part of it was a desire to go to a lively European city for the weekend!
I started to find out what it would cost me to get there and I managed to find some pretty reasonable flights to Frankfurt which would make the trip for me viable. I immediately booked the tickets and started to do a bit of research on the night life in Frankfurt! I discovered that it was only really second to Berlin in terms of night life, and it looked like a pretty wild place to be. I told the other guys at work that they had to make the effort to go along, because it was going to be a blast! In the end about ten of us went, and after our trip, anything we didn’t know about the night life of Frankfurt wasn’t worth knowing!
