When you set out to plan for your first luxury cruise, you will soon find the task to be somewhat more of a challenge than one would expect it to be, especially if you are not a frequent traveler or have never taken an organized tour.

One of the easiest things to figure out is who is going on the luxury cruise. Most luxury cruises have some form of entertainment for travelers of all ages from toddlers to grandmothers. Families with teenagers claim a cruise it the best idea for a family vacation. However, there are some cruises that are practically adults only, if you prefer.

The next detail you need to plan is how much money you are willing to spend on your luxury cruise. Not including airfare, it is best to figure on a minimum of about a hundred dollars a day per person for the average luxury cruise. The minimum price for a major Caribbean cruise is usually somewhere around five hundred dollars a week.

Before calling the travel agent, an important detail to determine is where you would like to go on your luxury cruise. For many travelers, this is the toughest decision of all. Since seventy-five percent of the world is covered in water, the possibilities are virtually endless.
