The Japanese Chef, Tetsuya considered one of most innovative chef has surprised guests with the unique cuisines based with Japaneseís technique, enhanced with strong French influences. Some of the dishes worth trying are the ocean trout served with unpasteurized ocean trout roe. Before serving the same, chilled cold corn soup with saffron and†vanilla ice cream is offered in the course. The Dishes are so planned & prepared that each compliments the other. Each dish is paired with a perfect Wine Since it has a remarkable list of varieties if wine that match well with each dish. A luxurious and relaxed ambience is created for the diners as they dine in well lit large spacious dining room with a capacity to sit 90 persons & overlooking a beautiful Japanese garden. The heritage building also boasts of 5 private and sophisticated dining rooms having a capacity range to handle 14 to 60 persons.
The Signature dish includes Tasmanian ocean trout garnished with konbu and fennel, which is then followed by spanner crab with an avocado soup. Also, Served hot is grilled fillet of barramundi with braised baby fennel and†then lastly cooked de-boned spatchcock with foie gras and†gobo, wasabi & wagyu beef with lime.
The amazing Desserts served at Tetsuyaís may include beetroot†and blood orange or apple sorbet, prior to that Comte with lentils are served. After the sorbet, summer pudding & lemon scented vanilla floating island is offered. Lastly it ends with a flourless chocolate cake served along with green tea†& red beans.
Tetsuyaís is open from Tuesday to Saturday, 6pm onwards and on Saturday it is open for lunch at 12pm.A 13 course menu plus drinks per person served at tetsuyaís costs $195.Other dish prices vary between $180 to $280 & all type of cards are accepted here. The place is best suited for holding small parties, celebrating a birthday or anniversary. There is no facility to hold conference or business meeting as it does not have the required settings.
